It is an A-major triad with an added flat 2nd (SIb in this case). This chord is used in flamenco music and is usually the dominant of the d-minor.
The added note adds some tension to the chord and the spelling of this chord can be different sometimes. You could spell it as Aadd-9 for example.
The left hand position is very similar to the D-major except that the fingers are one string down.
